Friends of Knolls Wood
The Friends of Knolls Wood want people to appreciate and enjoy the plants, trees and animals that this special place supports, for many years to come. We have an ongoing calendar of events which is not only designed to raise awareness of the natural habitat but also to educate our children to appreciate their surroundings.
We organise regular volunteer parties with the Greensand Trust to help with projects, which can include anything from clearing to planting. We meet weekends throughout the year. We welcome anyone who wants to join us – just come along. It is useful if you can let us know if you plan to attend.
Knolls Wood is situated one mile north of Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire. Covering an area of nearly 4 hectares, it is bordered on the north side by Sandy Lane and on the West by Plantation Road. It has been designated an area of Great Landscape Value and is covered by Tree Preservation Orders thanks to its range of exotic and ornamental tree specimens.
