Friends of Harrold-Odell Country Park
The Friends of Harrold-Odell Country Park( HOCP) work with the managers of the Park and Bedford Borough Council to help maintain and improve the site for both visitors and wildlife.
The Friends of HOCP fall into two broad groups, active volunteers and interested supporters. The active volunteers work with staff on a wide range of practical activities, some routine work and some taking the form of special projects. Routine work carried out by the volunteers includes ground clearance, hedge maintenance, woodland coppicing, path clearance, equipment maintenance.
A Conservation Task Day is led each month by a member of the Park Staff. This is for people who can only commit to one day a month. It also enables people interested in becoming a volunteer to sample what is involved. Why not join in and help with practical work such as habitat management, tree planting and hedge work? The Park provides all the necessary equipment, direction and training where necessary.

Accessibility
The park is fully accessible; however check with Park Staff to ensure the planned activity meets any accessibility requirements.
What to bring
Volunteers would need steel toe cap boots, suitable clothing and a packed lunch and any personal refreshments, although there is a café on site.
Facilities
Facilities at the country park includes free parking, the Dragonfly café, cycle racks and toilets and disabled toilets.
