DESCRIPTION:The Ivel Valley Conservation Volunteers (IVCV) have been undertaking weekly tasks in east Bedfordshire for nearly 20 years. \nThe group is led by trained Beds RCC staff and delivers an annual programme of weekly conservation and access enhancement tasks including: \n\ntree and hedge planting\nscrub clearance\npond creation\nclearance and the installation of kissing gates\, benches\, fences and bridges\n\nLearn new skills\nIVCV enables participants to learn new skills at the same time as improving their physical and mental health. \nMeeting most Tuesdays\, the group is open to all. We meet at various locations across Bedfordshire – mainly in the eastern side of the county. \nAccessibility\nVariable. Some work sites are not easily accessible as they are within the countryside but many are adjacent to parking and easily accessed by those with mobility difficulties. Some level of physical fitness is required and some tasks can be physically demanding. \nWhat to bring\n\nClothes suitable to outdoor working (to keep you safe\, comfortable and dry)\, sturdy footwear\, a A packed lunch if staying all day and cold drinks (warm drinks at morning break and lunch time are provided).
