Ivel Valley Conservation Volunteers
November 14, 2028 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
The Ivel Valley Conservation Volunteers (IVCV) have been undertaking weekly tasks in east Bedfordshire for nearly 20 years.
The group is led by trained Beds RCC staff and delivers an annual programme of weekly conservation and access enhancement tasks including:
- tree and hedge planting
- scrub clearance
- pond creation
- clearance and the installation of kissing gates, benches, fences and bridges
Learn new skills
IVCV enables participants to learn new skills at the same time as improving their physical and mental health.
Meeting most Tuesdays, the group is open to all. We meet at various locations across Bedfordshire – mainly in the eastern side of the county.
Accessibility
Variable. Some work sites are not easily accessible as they are within the countryside but many are adjacent to parking and easily accessed by those with mobility difficulties. Some level of physical fitness is required and some tasks can be physically demanding.
What to bring
Clothes suitable to outdoor working (to keep you safe, comfortable and dry), sturdy footwear, a A packed lunch if staying all day and cold drinks (warm drinks at morning break and lunch time are provided). Occasionally tasks require specific items (such as long sleeves) and you will be notified in advance of this and if you do not have them available then we will accommodate what we can.
Facilities
This varies per task but you will be notified in advance of parking provision and welfare provision on the day.
